Like sorting household trash, in Japan, local residents are taking
actions to keep their district clean. If that is everyone who is doing it,
the whole country becomes clean. This time, I want to tell you about “No
Trash Day”, a national event which happens on May 30th every year since 1975. On this day, local municipalities gather residents from their district and pick up trash that are in their autonomous region. By participating in this event, you will experience the way how Japanese people think about their environment and what kind of actions they are taking.
We hope that this column will help you in Japan.
